Dividends Calculator

Model dividend income, DRIP reinvestment, taxes, and ending portfolio value from a clean set of assumptions. Built for scenario planning, not live market quoting.

Projection inputs
This is a planning model, not live market data. It simulates a constant set of user-defined assumptions.

Reinvest dividends (DRIP)

Net dividends buy additional shares at the simulated share price.

Projection summary

Run the simulation to see projected dividend income and ending value.

Assumptions

The model applies constant growth, constant tax rate, and a fixed contribution schedule.

Dividends are estimated from yield and share price rather than live company payout data.

Use it for scenario planning, not investment advice or tax filing.

Year-by-year projection
Values below show the simulated year-end state after contributions, dividends, taxes, and optional DRIP.

The year-by-year table appears after you run the projection.

What the model does

1. Convert your principal into shares using the starting share price.

2. Add yearly contributions over the selected dividend frequency.

3. Estimate dividends from yield, subtract taxes, and optionally reinvest the net amount through DRIP.

4. Grow both share price and dividend yield using the rates you supply.

Important limitations

The tool does not fetch live stock or ETF data.
Tax treatment is simplified and may differ from your real jurisdiction.
Actual dividend cuts, suspensions, and price volatility are not modeled.

Frequently asked questions

What is DRIP?

DRIP stands for dividend reinvestment plan. Instead of taking dividends as cash, the dividends are used to buy more shares, which can increase future dividend income over time.

Why does the calculator ask for a starting share price?

The model converts your starting principal and future contributions into shares. A starting share price lets the projection estimate how many shares you own and how reinvested dividends compound.

Are these dividend projections exact?

No. The calculator uses fixed user assumptions for yield, growth, taxes, and share-price appreciation. Real dividends, taxes, and market prices can vary substantially.
